Thanks a million for all you've given in the daily devotionals, I looked like someone who is ungrateful for not being able to say thank you all these while; but its better late than never, THANK YOU.
I'm writing from Africa, precisely NIGERIA, the more reason I've not been able to forward my contribution to your ministry, this great work you're doing deserves this and many more, however I'm sure God has been faithful. I can vividly remember how you shared the instruction from the Lord that you should make subscription free, thank God that you obeyed Him. Can you share with me this faithfulness of God in keeping you going despite the fact that there is no subscription fee.
Your testimony will bless me because I also believe God is asking me to empower people free and trust Him that the same people will come back to be a blessing to me as I obey Him in this.
Credit card facility is beginning to take root in my contry now and as soon as I understand how to send gifts via credit card you can trust God that I will surely be sending my regular love seed to your ministry.

My good friend Lee Weinberg forwarded several of your "Word's" to me. They were such a blessing that I went to your website and subscribed. I teach at a private Christian school. My husband is the children's pastor at the church with which we are affiliated. Needless to say, I am often frazzled and lately I have struggled with "drought" in my walk. Your words have been such a blessing. I look forward each day to reading your message. Please be encouraged in what you are doing, because you have been such an encouragement to me. I wish I could give more to your ministry. I believe I am sowing to good soil.
Thanks for being faithful,
Bless you,

Buenas noches Dr. Skip:
Good evening, Dr. Skip,
Una nota para decirle que este mensaje toco mi corazón.
A note to tell you that this message touched my heart.
Dios me hablo recordandome que me ama por ser su hija, no importa lo que haya sucedido el me ama.
God spoke to me reminding me that He loves me because I´m His daughter, without regards to what has happened, He loves me.
Que me ha amado siempre aún cuando estaba lejos de el.
That He has loved me always, even when I was far from Him.
Gracias por compartir su mensaje

I wanted a little time to think about what to say about Today's Word. I hunted my mind for
adjectives and thought what a place to wordsmith for someone who knows how.
I don't really know how to do that, but I can appreciate it when I see it.
Today's Word is not wordsmithing as far as I can see. I just see truth in
what the word meant when it was used. It is difficult to appreciate how much
words change over time let alone over culture. Today's Word is gift.
I don't know Greek nor Hebrew, but I do appreciate when someone else
puts in the effort to help me as well as others to begin to grasp the
height, depth, and breadth of God's character. We all get led by what we
seek to know. Our passions find us out and for a follower of Jesus Christ
our passion will lead us to Him. Today's Word gives me knowledge of the
ancients and the words they used to understand their world. Today's Word
sets truth in its own terms. Something the Christian needs today is to grasp
the depth of passion that God has for us and the extent He is willing to get
our hearts for Himself. This is not milk toast. It is meat and potatoes
instruction every day.

How I have longed to understand God's word the way Skip explains it. Skip does not just give a typical commentary on God's word, he gets to the true essence and understanding of what God and Jesus are wanting us to hear. Through Skip's teaching and his daily "Today's Word" I am equipped to go deeper into God's word and come closer to Him more than ever before. Through his real world applications I have come to know my Father and Savior in a much more intimate way
one that I feel I would have never gotten to if it was not for Skip's insight and his love for our Father.
A new life has been breathed into many of the men at my church because of Skip's teaching. I have gone to many men's meetings and conferences and I have seen that after they're over the fire goes out and the excitement fades. Not this time! After Skip's teaching, he left our men and me filled and over flowing, yet so hungry for more. As one of the men put it, 'There are only a handful of true teachers and Skip is one of those unique few.' God has given Skip two unique and special gifts: the gift of knowledge and wisdom and the gift of teaching like Jesus. Thank you Skip for helping us to love and need our Lord so much more.

You cannot know how your teaching has helped me do His will in circumstances that have seemed above and beyond me. The point I have learned is that these above and beyond circumstances are above and beyond me but not Him. He has me here to do His work through me and I don't have to worry about how people view me or what the outcome is. All I have to do is put one foot in front of the other and let Him do the rest. It has been an amazing experience! He speaks through you to me every day. Thank you.

It is exceedingly difficult to put into words the impact your ministry has made on me this past year. Before I started reading "At God's Table", I worked at a major bank remodeling the vault. I have seen pallets of money worth millions,(not mine, but nonetheless have seen it.) The Bible states "wisdom is better than gold". What you have given me through the daily teaching of the "word" of God cannot even be measured in monetary terms we use today. And not only the impact these words have upon me but on additionally on those I am able to share with and the impact on my own family. "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people", "If you love me, feed my sheep", "the words that I speak unto you-they are spirit and they are life"..are a few phrases that come to my mind when I think of the way God has used your ministry in impacting my life. This is God ordained and crucial to this hour. I can truly say even though we have never met, I hold you (according to your words!) in the highest regard and KNOW my Savior has abundant blessings in store for you.

I have finished reading your book and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It is a marvelous mix of learned material and practical, homespun writing. So many folks who know as much as you do obfuscate terribly, as if to demonstrate their knowledge through lack of clarity. Your book, on the other hand, provides scriptural knowledge through the study of ancient language, but provides its application in a manner that anyone can easily follow. I genuinely learned as I went and enjoyed the simplicity of presentation.

hey, skip, thank you SO MUCH for coming last night. it seemed like you were very well received. and after talking to some of the students, i know you got them thinking. you got me thinking as well. i have been pondering and praying and sharing with people today about being a resident alien and the difference between the greek and hebrew system. also, about obedience being the key to having a relationship with the Father.
thank you for being used by God to speak the truth clearly and differently. it is so good to hear things different from what we usually hear. i believe you are right on so many things about our americanized church. we have lost touch with what Jesus really taught and what the church valued in the first century.

Dear Skip, Oh how I love to fellowship with you at God's table. My husband says I'm just like a little bird with my mouth wide open all the time. Sure do wish we could meet with you all at the Bible Study. Well someday, soon I hope, the way the world is going into the pits, it seems, we will all be together with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for allowing me to sit at your feet as you open things up from His Word. What a blessing you are to me.

I wanted to let you know how inspiring, comforting and informative your latest writings have been in my life. You also are dealing with some very heavy burdens, but your depth of wisdom is truly God inspiring. As you pray for me, I also pray for you and your family. I anxiously go home from work with your writings in hand and can't wait to read. When I read the scriptures and then supplement your writings -the scripture takes on a deeper meaning. It is so awesome that what I read in the bible is also what you are writing at that particular time. Skip, God gave you a glorious gift of words to inspire and deepen are relationship with God. Please continue to give us the essence of you. God bless and peace be with you and your family.
With gratitude and thanks,

Hi Skip,
Today's Word brought tears. What an awesome God we serve, one who anticipates and cares for our every need. Your writing is beautiful.
It brought to mind Psalm 52:8 . I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever.
It reminds me that the work is God's. I am useless and even dead without His care. He waters, feeds, prunes and keeps me in his light, and my part? My part is to trust that he will because of his unfailing love. This shouldn't be so hard, should it?
I love that word, flourishing, that's exactly what I want to do in God's care.
Thank you for encouraging (food for life) and inspiring,
- Betty (Florida)

While I forward a fair amount of clever, funny, or otherwise sort of useful material via e-mail, I don't recall ever suggesting anyone spend any money - so this will be a first.
I was turned on to Skip Moen by my wife who forwarded me several of his e-mails of "Today's Word." I ended up subscribing to Today's Word last year, and have read 187 of his informative daily e-mails. Skip is a teacher, exploring and explaining in a simple, straightforward, scholarly but not dull way, specific words from biblical text - what they really mean based on the source language and how they are relatable today. This is not an easy thing to do, and he has shared his knowledge and skills with us freely and generously.
A lot of people offer to separate you from your money in exchange for "pie in the sky." Skip seems to be a bit different - he shares without regard to ability to pay - but recognizes that it takes funding to do something worthwhile.
Check out what he says below - he didn't ask me to write anything, just to pass along his request which is contained below in its entirety - but I'm recommending that you take up his offer. You will learn a lot (more than a fair trade for the small sum he mentions) and do some good for others at the same time. If you can afford it, please respond to his request.

Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your site and the Today's Word I receive from you each day. It is so inspiring for me. God is truly using you in a wonderful ministry. I finally sat down and read your "story" from beginning to end. It was truly a life changing story for me. I struggle with my spouse many times because He is into the materialist so strongly.I now feel I have something positive I can share with him and hopefully he will see that the gifts we receive come from God and we only "need" what we "need". God Bless you!

Whew!! Wow!!! That is a lot to think about, as I sat on the edge of my sit, waiting to see where God was taking me with the question, I finally got the answer. He knows what he's doing. Focus on him, seek. Thank you for that word. My thoughts were as yours - Lord, what about me? Answer, what about you, I know what I'm doing, but he also let me know that he would never forsake us nor leave us.
Thank you for being the servant that you are. Thank you for sharing and speaking the oracles of God.

"Gosh, Skip, this is so good today. I need to save this..........Perhaps even print it and have it put in calligraphy and framed! It made me unable to swallow and tears poured down my face." Thank you for this!

Hi Skip. Just pulled up your site just today. Usually I am just going my merry way down here and I have never taken the TIME to actually go to each little place in your awesome web site. It is just beautiful. I will continue to pray for your ministry at this time. The hour is late. But, Jesus is never late; He is always on time in our lives. So many things have changed my walk with Christ. That is when the Lord altered my course so to speak. God bless you. I love your beautiful site. The Lord is using it, I am sure of that."

Skip, I am saving all your writings and printing them out and keeping them in a folder for future use for me to go back and reread them. I am starting a women's ministry at my fellowship and my vision is for women who have been hurt to see how much Jesus loves them and how He wants to use them in this last day move. Your writings are a blessing to me. God is so good to me. He sent you to me at this critical juncture in my life . You are a blessing."

Last night my wife and I were spending time together organizing and sharing time together. I asked if I could read one of the daily messages to her. She agreed and as I read we both realized just what we were missing. We read through and discussed nine of the devotions together. Each one had practical and hard hitting realizations that not only gave new insight into the scripture. In fact I found myself challenged in ways that brought me to an emotional response. Gosh, I have such a long way to go and such great hope in our Savior's finished work and example."

"Your Today's Word is the thing I look forward to most in the mornings. You will probably never know what a blessing it is. I don't know what other gifts the Lord given you, but I do know that this one is of great value because you share it with all of us."
